Teaching strategies are all about finding effective ways to help students learn the required material. However, because not every student learns and develops in the same manner, these strategies must be flexible to some degree. Furthermore, strategies can differ from subject to subject, meaning that teachers must be well versed in many different teaching methods and must stay as updated as possible.

There are a variety of studies that show that students that are actively engaged in the learning process inevitably do better in their studies, and as such it is vitally important for teachers to making the learning process enjoyable and effective. This is why experts recommend finding ways for students to actively participate in discussions as well as allowing them to explore on their own.

There are also many styles of learning for which teaching strategies should be adjusted. Some children learn better by listening and processing information, while others like to take a more "hands on" approach to learning. Teachers should be flexible in the way they teach their students by trying to address their individual needs and learning tendencies.
